The Milwaukee Brewers say they have picked up a new outfielder in a trade.
The team says it traded with the San Diego Padres for Rymer Liriano, who is 24 years old. Milwaukee has sent left hand pitcher Trevor Seidenberger to San Diego in exchange.
The Brewers also say they designated outfielder Shane Peterson for assignment.
Liriano's sole season in San Diego came in 2014, when in 38 games, he hit .220 with a home run and six RBI.
He spent most of 2015 with El Paso in the Pacific Coast League. In 131 games there, he hit .292 with 14 homers, 64 RBI and 18 stolen bases.
