Thursday, Aug. 18 is the second (should be third) preseason game of the year for the green and gold.

Kickoff from Lambeau between the Packers and Raiders is at 7 p.m.

With Jordy Nelson now off the PUP list, many are wondering if we’ll see him take the field.

“I don’t imagine we will [see him], but there’s no question we’ll probably see him next week,” Voice of the Packers Wayne Larrivee tells Wisconsin’s Morning News. “I would imagine he and Aaron Rodgers will get a couple of turns out there next week to shake off some of the rust.”

In terms of getting regulars into preseason games, it used to be that  game there was more or less a still ‘dress rehearsal,’ but Larrivee says that has changed.

“With Mike McCarthy, the dress rehearsal has more to do with what they do during the week leading up to the game. They try to give the guys a look at an opponent that would be similar to what they do during the regular season in terms of preparation. That does include some game time for the veterans, but it varies. It used to be that veterans would play that first half and into the third quarter, but that’s not the case anymore from what I’ve seen around the league or with the Packers.”
