WAUWATOSA — If you have a craving for chocolate, Ultimate Confections in Wauwatosa is where you want to be.

They've had award-winning chocolate for the past 25 years.

"We started at Capitol Drive Lutheran in the basement," says owner Pat Murphy. "They had a commercial kitchen that the health department approved. We were making things there, so we started from the ground floor when we finally had enough capital to start our own space."

And that's how they found their store at 820 North 68th Street. They hand-dip all of their chocolates, which gives their product a better taste.

"When we hand- dip something, it retains 25 percent more chocolate in it than something like a snickers bar that you buy at Walgreens," Murphy explains. "They shake a lot of the excess chocolate off. When you hand-dip that, you're not able to do that so it tends to have more chocolate."

They have plenty of goodies to choose from, boasting over 50 different chocolates.

"What's really popular right now, is the s'mores bark," Murphy says. "We're making that every single day, we can hardly keep it on the shelves. It's that time of year. Every day we make chocolate-covered strawberries. Another popular thing we do is turtles, and also chocolate-covered pretzels. Those are very popular."
