NEW BERLIN -- An eerie 911 call leads New Berlin Police to find two people shot dead in their own home.

"[He said] 'help was needed here.' The dispatcher asked him for more details and he just repeated that help was needed here," said Captain Mike Glider, New Berlin Police.

The line then went dead. Police then rushed to the house on West Hickory Trail at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, to find the door wide open, and gun powder in the air.

They found a 76-year-old man and 71-year-old woman in the bedroom with gunshot wounds.

The man was dead. The woman was still alive and died at the hospital.

New Berlin Police do not plan to release any updates, including the names of the victims until Friday.
