MILWAUKEE -- If you stop by the Rebel Music Stage at Summerfest, you can enjoy more than original music. You can give a child a wonderful holiday by donating to "Shop With A Cop."
Michael Kryshak's company champions the concept. He admits, officers have as much fun as the kids.
"There's handshakes, hugs, tears, and they aren't all from the kids," Kryshak said.
All of the proceeds go directly to "Shop With a Cop" programs.
"Most of these kids wouldn't have a Christmas if it wasn't for this program," Kryshak said. "They're coming from foster homes group homes, battered women's centers, they're economically disadvantaged."
Helping kids is vital to Kryshak's quest. He also co founded and sponsors the Southside Bike Giveaway. This years event gave away 948 new and refurbished cycles to youngsters in need.
Lifting young people is why Rebel Music Stage organizers embrace Mike's mission. Eion Mccarthy, Founder of the Rebel Music Stage exclaims, "To know that a kids Christmas is going to be better because of a bunch of us idiots are playing music is great."
