Small Towns: Wisconsin Dells Bigfoot Zip-lining Tour

Since 2010, Wisconsin Dells has been giving guests something more than just the water park experience.

"I'm not going to try to change that. We are the water park capital of the world," says Jason Field, the owner of the Bigfoot Zip-line tour.

Sprawled across 40 acres of wilderness and man-made lakes in the heart of the Dells, the Bigfoot Zip-line tour gives guests a one of a kind look, from above.

"We've had people here on our zip-line that have zip-lined in Hawaii, Costa Rica and they say this course is in the top 10 in the nation," adds Field.

Stretched across the course is nearly 8,000 feet of line. The course offers seven different lines to encounter and it all begins, relatively easy, by starting at a line situated just 60 feet off the ground. Field says the idea is to start small and work his guest’s courage up to more and more challenging lines.

"As you go through our course it progressively gets bigger and bigger and bigger."

By the time you learn the ropes, you'll be perched on top of a 110-foot tower which is the tallest tower on the course. From the top of this tower it is still an experience that gives Fields, and many repeat guests, shaky knees.

"It's pretty intimidating once you’re up at that height," says Field.

And whether you’re just a kid who’s willing to give the adrenaline ride a go, or a kid at heart willing to bury your fear of heights real deep, the two and a half hour tour will leave most wondering why they’ve never tried zip-lining before.
