Shoppers out hours after dinner for Thanksgiving deals

The sun had hardly set on Thanksgiving before people were ready to get shopping.

After a hot meal, they were ready for hot deals. They may be full from eating all the turkey but were hungry for deals Thursday evening, lining up outside of Toys R Us.

"I didn't have to work today and I made a dinner for my husband, myself and mother-in-law," said Amy Simmons. "We're good and we have pie to look forward to when we get home."

At 5 p.m. they opened the doors and people began flooding in looking for the best deals.

"Basically because I don't like paying full price," said Andrea Vargas. "That's my thing. Two kids, a house, taxes  coming up, Yeah, I'm not paying full price."

But on top of saving money, it's the best times for some families to do the shopping because they have a house full of babysitters at home.

"It's kind of my thing to do Thanksgiving shopping," Vargas said. "My kids are obsessed with Hot Wheels and Thomas and Barbies. It's a good deal right now. My husband is home taking care of the kids."

"She's kid-less right now," said Samantha Frank. "It's a good time to hurry up and shop. I only spent $61 in here and have a cart full of stuff so it was pretty good."
