Values versus policy positions, both have come up in the heated Wisconsin Supreme Court race. PolitiFact Wisconsin puts one claim through the Truth-O-Meter.

It's supposed to be a non-partisan race but the open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court has been an all out partisan battle between Rebecca Dallet and Michael Screnock

"Judge Michael Screnock says that Judge Rebecca Dallet has advocated for policies to meet her political objective," said Tom Kertscher with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

PolitiFact Wisconsin says Judge Screnock is backed by conservatives while Judge Dallet is backed by liberals. Has she talked about advocating for policies?

"Judge Dallet has made it a point during the campaign to say she's only stating her values such as clean air and water, or equal rights for women," said Kertscher, "and that she's not taking positions on issues."

But PolitiFact Wisconsin did look through several of Dallet's statements in interviews and on social media and found some of her comments went further than just stating her values.

"Judge Dallet has said that what she refers to as mass incarceration needs to be addressed," said Kertscher. "She says that voting should not be made more difficult, it should be made easier. She has also said that the AR-15 rifle should not be sold in the United States."

PolitiFact Wisconsin rated Screnock's statement Mostly True.
