MEQUON -- Jason Staszko decided to thank their local fire department for being available during the brutal cold.

While many businesses throughout the state were closed due to some of the coldest temperatures the state has ever seen, police and fire departments remained open.

In Delevan, the police department also posted a picture of candy bars that came from Mr. and Ms. Federer, local residents.

Temperatures remained in the negatives throughout the entire duration of Wednesday and Thursday's forecast appears to be just a tad warmer.
