A Utah couple want to get married in their home state. The only issue is that they are first cousins.

Michael and Angie Lee had to go to Colorado to make their marriage legal, but upon returning home to Utah, their marriage is considered illegal.

The practice of marrying your first cousin is uncommon due to the somewhat higher risk of genetic disorders in the couples' kids. The possibility of a genetic disorder in children from non-related parents is 3-4% whereas the Lee's child could have a 4-7% chance according to researchers at Columbia University.

Utah does allow marriage between first cousins if they are 65 or older or 55 if they can prove they are infertile.

The Lee's are currently gathering signatures to try and change the law.
