Two Florida assisted living facilities shut down after police discover deplorable conditions

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Two assisted living facilities in St. Petersburg have been shut down after deplorable conditions were discovered.

The St. Petersburg Police Department said they shut down two assisted living facilities after they discovered they had no running water, no power and broken windows. Officers said they also found drug paraphernalia.

The two facilities are both run by Tampa Bay Behavioral Health.

Officers said nine disabled adults have been displaced. A number of agencies are at the scene to help find new homes for the residents.

No charges are pending at this time.
