Two reports say that the quarterback who started protests during the national anthem has filed a legal grievance against the NFL's owners.

Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman reports that Colin Kaepernick "has filed a grievance under the (NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement) for collusion against the owners."

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora also reports similar news.

Since Kaepernick started his protests during the anthem about racial profiling and police treatment of minorities in 2016, the San Francisco 49ers released him. No NFL team has hired him since.

The protests during the anthem have led to a firestorm from President Donald Trump, who has kept up consistent criticism of protesting during the anthem. The NFL is meeting this week with players to come up with a plan for future action regarding social issues, but they say they are not changing their policy of saying players should stand for the anthem, but are not required to.
