Hillsboro, OR (KPTV) -- A man wanted in connection to a shooting that happened in Hillsboro late Sunday afternoon has been arrested.

Police were searching for 61-year-old Fidencio Diaz-Eguiza as a person of interest following the shooting.

The shooting happened inside a home in the 2700 block of Southeast Tumblestone Drive at around 4:16 p.m. and left one woman hospitalized with a serious gunshot wound.

The victim has been identified as Diaz-Eguiza's 59-year-old wife. She is expected to survive, according to police.

According to police, Diaz-Eguiza was found hiding in a cabinet in the garage of the home on SE Tumblestone.

Police told FOX 12 they didn't find him immediately after the shooting because they needed a search warrant to search the home.

Diaz-Eguiza was booked into the Washington County Jail just before 4 a.m. Monday. He is facing charges of attempted murder, second-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.

He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
