An Ohio dad was disappointed in his daughter for bullying another student, so he came up with a punishment that has now been seen millions of times online.
Matt Cox made his 10-year-old daughter walk five miles to school
"This is my small way of trying to stop it in my household,” Cox said.
The video has millions of views and hundreds of comments.
Cox’ daughter usually rides the bus, but she was suspended for bullying another student. The walk to school was her punishment, and her father recorded it.
"This is not the first incident. It's the second incident for the year,” Cox said.
It may seem harsh to some, but Cox said he had to correct her behavior,
"Parents need to hold their kids accountable,” he said. “So that was me showing how I hold my kid accountable. I'm not going to be another parent that's just going to brush things under the rug and say kids will be kids."
His daughter Kristen says she’s learned a lot, most importantly to be kind.
"I was bullied many times by kids bigger than me and smaller kids,” she said.
Kristen’s five-mile walk was broken up over her three-day suspension from the bus.
She finished the last two miles on Wednesday and is expected to return to her normal routine.
