The Federal Aviation Administration is hiring for about 1,400 entry-level air traffic controller positions. The jobs will be posted online from August 8-15, according to the FAA.
The job can be a lucrative one. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the mean annual salary of an air traffic controller was $118,740 in 2015. The median hourly wage was $59.11.
Competition for the jobs will likely be stiff. The FAA expects more than 25,000 applications for the open positions.
