PAW PAW, Mich. -- A 15-year-old could face trial as an adult after allegedly planning to attack Paw Paw High School but then changing his mind.

WOOD-TV reports that the teen told his parents about his plans, who then took him to the authorities. "He came to us and said that he’s been really upset and said that he’s been planning to do something bad," the boy's stepfather said.

The 15-year-old, who is not being identified because he is a minor, also admitted to stealing guns from his grandfather and cutting them down to fit into a bag. He said he planned to use them to kill the students who had bullied him over the past year.

After being turned into authorities, officers also found materials to make pipe bombs in the teen’s home. These officers and others who interviewed him said he should be tried as an adult because of the seriousness of the situation.
