A man set himself on fire near the White House at around noon Wednesday, the U.S. Secret Service said.
The man, who has not been identified, set himself on fire in front of sightseers at the Ellipse, a 52-acre park located south of the White House fence and north of the National Mall.
The man was transported to a local hospital. Authorities haven't said what his condition is at this time.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. a man lit himself on fire on the Ellipse near 15th and Constitution Ave., Secret Service personnel are on scene assisting @NatlParkService and @usparkpolicepio in rendering first aid.
