Republican Jim Sensenbrenner fought off a challenge from Khary Penebaker Tuesday night, successfully earning an eighth trip to the U.S. House of Representatives.

As of 11:40 p.m., Sensenbrenner had 68 percent of the vote, while Penebaker had 28 percent. 

Sensenbrenner was first elected to Congress in 2002 and has earned at least 60 percent of the vote in each election since then.

Penebaker, a UW-Milwaukee graduate and roofing industry veteran, first announced his bid in April.
