MILWAUKEE — One person is dead after a shooting in the early morning hours of Sunday in Milwaukee's Uptown neighborhood.
According to a release from the Milwaukee Police Department, a 32-year-old man was fatally shot around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 23 on the 5200 block of W Meinecke Ave.
First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. He was later identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office as Derrick A. Christmas.
MPD says it is still investigating what led up to the shooting.
