MILWAUKEE  -- The new Marquette Law School poll shows a tight race for the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate race against incumbent Tammy Baldwin, and an advantage by Governor Scott Walker over every Democratic challenger in the race.

The Marquette Law poll says that 37 percent support Kevin Nicholson, while 32 percent support Leah Vukmir. 30 percent said "don't know."

In theoretical races head-to-head with Baldwin, a Democrat, the incumbent holds a 50-39 lead on Nicholson and a 49-40 advantage on Vukmir.

In the governor's race, Walker holds leads ranging between two and 13 points over every one of 10 possible Democratic candidates.

His closest challenger is Mike McCabe, against whom he owns a 44-42 lead.

As the poll results show, most voters sampled have no opinion or don't have enough knowledge about Democratic governor candidates.
