Two Greenfield Police officers were injured Sunday evening while responding to a domestic incident at a motel.
Police were called to the Hideaway Motel at 5105 South 27th Street at about 9:30 p.m. after receiving the domestic violence call from a female.
Authorities say the woman’s 21-year-old son was confrontation with officers when they arrived and was also confronting the man suspected of assaulting his mother.
Police say the son became increasingly agitated, would not comply with the officers directions and when they tried to take him into custody he physically resisted.
Two officers were transported to a local hospital with injuries suffered in the scuffle. One of the officers, a 31-year-old male was released, the other, a 33-year-old male, remained hospitalized as of early Monday morning.
The 21-year-old suspect was taken into custody and charges are pending.
A 48-year-old man was arrested in connection with the original domestic violence call.
