Woman killed after shooting near Milwaukee's north side

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating what started as a non-fatal shooting in the early morning of Dec. 8, but later resulted in a fatal shooting after a woman succumbed to her injuries.

Police were called to the 7400 block of West Capitol Drive on Tuesday around 1:45 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, MPD found a 54-year-old Milwaukee woman who had been shot.

She was transported to a local hospital for critically serious gunshot wounds. She eventually succumbed to her injuries later on Tuesday.
