Woman found dead near Milwaukee Art Museum likely hit by vehicle

MILWAUKEE – Authorities say a woman found dead near the Milwaukee Art Museum Wednesday was likely hit by a vehicle.

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Lane E. Kerpan.

The  Medical Examiner was called to the scene at around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. 

A 911 caller reported a woman who was "very white and not moving" from what appeared to be from an "accident."

When fire crews arrived at the scene the woman had no pulse and was not breathing. 

An autopsy revealed significant internal injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.
