OCONOMOWOC -- A Waukesha County woman charged with killing her husband and hiding his body will face a judge Friday.

Amy Van Wagner was arrested on Feb. 24 and is accused of killing Stanley Van Wagner.

Amy is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 8:15 a.m. The judge will determine if there's enough evidence to move forward with a trial.

Stanley, 50, was found dead at his home on S. Elm Street in Oconomowoc in May 2015.

Police allege Stanley was shot in an office area at the home before his body was moved to the basement. They said he was shot four times with a .380 handgun and “know for a fact there were two .380 caliber guns owned by the family.”

Amy was arrested last month after a long investigation police said involved analysis of cell phone records.

Oconomowoc police said Stanley’s cell phone was missing at the time he was found. Cell phone records obtained by authorities indicate that, around the time his body was discovered, the cell phone was being used to check messages and “pinging” off of a cell tower in the area where Amy worked.

Officials said this investigation took 8 months - in part - because of a lack of cooperation from Amy and other family members. But following an initial court appearance last month, Amy's attorney told TODAY'S TMJ4 that's not the case.

Amy is facing formal charges of first degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse.
