LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- A Georgia man snapped photos of a DNC tour bus illegally dumping human waste into a storm drain.
The Democratic National Committee has apologized, and is now trying to explain the driver's actions.
Reporter Julian Johnson talked to the man who saw it all happen.
"I don't care who you are. I don't care if you're Hillary Clinton; I don't care if you're Donald Trump. I don't care who you are. You don't throw human waste down a storm drain," Mike Robins says.
Robins tells CBS 46 he knew he had to capture what he was seeing on his phone, so he snapped photos after he says he saw someone dumping the waste down a storm drain.
"Waste water just dumping all out in the street, poured out into the storm drain, and at this time I've got my cell phone out and I'm taking pictures, 'cause I don't care who you are, that's just wrong," the man said.
The incident spawned an all-out HAZMAT situation, and even the state's Environmental Protection Division is involved.
DNC reps say "the driver saw that the sewage container for the bus was starting to leak, because it was full. He was concerned that the bus would have to drive a substantial distance while leaking sewage, potentially putting cars at risk. This was an honest mistake and we apologize to the Lawrenceville community for any harm we may have caused."
