Wisconsin's first hemp store is set to open in Black River Falls on April 20. This comes after the state started accepting applications for farmers to grow industrial hemp last month.

WEAU reports that Danyal Durman and Joel Peterson are opening PriceLand Hemp in Jackson County after years of experience with cannabis in Colorado and Oregon. While hemp and cannabis are not the same, the plants are similar enough for the farmers to feel comfortable growing it.

Peterson says the community is excited about the new store. "I think is the biggest thing for people, what I'm finding, is that the CBD has so many benefits," he continued.

Cannabidiol, known as CBD, is found in hemp. Peterson says he knows people who use it to help pain, anxiety and even to fight cancer.

Products sold at the store will range from food, vapes and creams all made with CBD.
