MOUNTAIN — The annual Iditarod begins Saturday at noon, and Wisconsin will be represented.

Blair Braverman, 30, of Mountain will represent Wisconsin as the only musher from the state.

As a teenager, she went to Norway to learn about mushing and began in 2008. Braverman got her own dog-sled team in 2014 and has been working toward the Iditarod since then.

Braverman was born and raised in Davis, California. She received her bachelor's degree in environmental law from Colby College and her master's degree in nonfiction writing from the University of Iowa.
