Wisconsin man raises over $8K for coalition by cutting off his beard

A LaCrosse man has raised $8,700 for the African American Roundtable in Milwaukee, with the simple act of shaving his beard.

Jason Kiley has been growing the beard in question for seven years and it had grown to be two feet long.

After previously winning multiples beard competitions, he changed things up by allowing donors of his fundraiser to choose his new facial hairstyle.

"I am fine with whatever style wins. I am most worried about having just a mustache though. Going down to just a mustache will almost feel like walking around in a speedo. But ultimately, the goal is to bring awareness of the issues the Black community faces and one of the organizations that is trying to make Milwaukee a safer place to live for Black people," said Kiley.

The chosen style at the end of the fundraiser was indeed a mustache, albeit an expensive one.
