The City of Menasha Police Department says it is not expecting to press charges against a man who dragged his dog behind his car.

Police say the man let the dog out and put the leash on the hitch of his vehicle.  When the man came back out to take his child to school, he forgot the dog was still attached.

He drove for about three-quarters of a mile before people were able to get his attention to stop.  Because of the snow, he drove slowly and the dog wasn't badly injured.

The dog was treated and is expected to make a full recovery.
