Wisconsin is one of the best states for working moms, study says

A new study finds Wisconsin is one of the best states in the country when it comes to supporting working moms.

The WalletHub reportranked the Badger State eighth overall based on specific categories, including child care, professional opportunities and work-life balance.

Wisconsin was ranked first among all 50 states and the District of Columbia for the lowest female unemployment rate. The state was also ranked sixth in daycare quality and ninth for median women's salary.

The report used 16 key metrics that were graded on a 100-point scale. The weighted average helped rank each state.

Massachusetts topped the list overall, and was ranked first in child care and work-life balance. South Carolina, Alabama and Louisiana were at the bottom of the list.
