MILWAUKEE - A recognizable canine ambassador for the Wisconsin Humane Society passed away last week.
Officials say Duncan, an 11-year-old American pit bull terrier, died Friday from congestive heart failure.
Duncan began volunteering with the organization in 2006 as an eduction ambassador and has been a familiar fixture at numerous events along with his guardian, Nora Hart.
Officials credit the affable dog’s work with changing the perception of pit bulls.
The Humane Society is asking people to share memories of Duncan on its Facebook page.
Donations in honor of Duncan can be made at wihumane.org.
