MILWAUKEE — Around local racing, the name Jim "Wildman" Watson is still revered.

"We both started at the same time," Hales Corners Speedway historian Pat Heaney said.

Now, a poster stands where the Hales Corner Speedway use to be promoting the Jim "Wildman" Watson Classic this Saturday at the Wilmot Speedway.

"Here at Hales Corners....he used to always run up near the wall and put on a great show," Nick Simons said.

"He loved running near the top of the track...and if you made a mistake, you would hit the concrete," Heaney said.

There are wingless sprints, modifieds, street stocks and late models. And proving there's something for everyone, this year they plan to give back even more to the kids.

"Last year we gave away 65 bikes to the kids...this year we are trying to give away 100, and that's huge," Simons said.

"I gotta hand it to Nick, he's been on the forefront on this," Steve Sinclair says.
