OAK CREEK, Wis. — Oak Creek's Common Council will consider a development agreement Tuesday regarding a hotel and conference center development on Northwestern Mutual-controlled land south of Ikea, according to our partners at Milwaukee Business Journal.

Wisconsin Dells hotel operator Stand Rock Hospitality is looking to make an agreement for the 27 acres of land between Drexel Avenue and Ikea.

Other projects by Stand Rock Hospitality include the Hampton Inn and Suites in Milwaukee West and resorts under the Wilderness brands.

The development would include new conference center spaces to host weddings and events and a 125-room hotel and 20,000 square feet of meeting space.

Oak Creek officials have already approved a tax incremental financing district to support new projects around the Interstate 94 interchange at Drexel Avenue, according to Milwaukee Business Journal. Officials approved up to $14.5 million in TIF incentives to new developments.
