Who's cooking this Thanksgiving?

Posted

Can the family chefs: moms, dads, grandparents and those talented uncles and aunts, count on the kids to help cook the turkey this Thanksgiving?

According to a handful of children ages four to college age, no.

But, that's not to say there weren't some good guesses.

Little 4-year-old Theodore Karpinski says he does know how to cook it. His secret ingredient is 'crazy,' but he was tight-lipped about where to find said ingredient.

First and second-grade sisters Evelina and Zofia Williams say they're experts at making the cornbread, not turkey. However, Zofia argues that chocolate should also be served as a side dish.

Ten-year-old Danny Lappin says he's not familiar with cooking a turkey but he knows how to make macaroni and cheese, specifically Kraft macaroni and cheese.

North Central College Freshman Lindsay Gleason and her Oak Creek High School sophomore sister Claire Gleason, say their dad is in charge of Thanksgiving. However, since they are familiar with general cooking, they cook a hypothetical turkey.

"You put Turkey in...the oven!"

"With seasoning."

"Yes, and you put butter under the skin."

"Umm, yep."

"And that's--that's all we know," say the Gleasons.

It looks like the family chefs are still in charge of cooking again this year.
