Pedestrian killed after hit-and-run in West Allis, police say

WEST ALLIS — The West Allis Police Department is investigating a fatal hit and run incident that took place on Sunday just before 6 p.m.

Police responded to a report of a crash in the 2800 block of S. 108th Street/STH 100 where preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle traveling northbound on S. 108th Street struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway. The pedestrian, a 36-year-old man, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.

The operator of the vehicle fled the scene. The vehicle is described as a large, light-colored sport utility vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban or GMC Denali.
