West Allis police confiscated a loaded AR15 rifle and multiple magazines from a convicted felon during a routine traffic stop.
Police say the officers were trying to pull over a vehicle for multiple traffic violations early Monday morning near 70th and Greenfield when the car sped away.
The vehicle was stopped after a 2-mile pursuit when officers on the scene deployed stop sticks.
Officials say along with the high-powered rifle, they also found marijuana and cocaine packaged to sell, a scale and a large amount of cash.
Police also believe the driver, a Milwaukee resident, was impaired and he was taken into custody.
