WEST ALLIS -- The West Allis Fire Department has created a GoFundMe so that they can purchase one of their fire engines, currently maintained by a private collector, from the 1930s.
The vehicle is a 1930 Peter Pirsch & Sons Fire Pumper Truck. The current owner has kept it "beautifully maintained," according to West Allis Fire Department's Facebook post.
The fire department hopes to raise $16,000, in order to get the historic fire engine back under its roof.
The engine would be used for educational purposes to teach students and residents about West Allis and fire service history.
The current campaign has raised $100. To donate, click here.
