Weekend Events: Staying indoors

The winter temperatures seem to be sticking around, so it's fitting that this weekend's list of events is strictly indoors.

Here's what's happening:

The Midwinter Gaming Convention is the place to go for board, live action and games of all sorts. The convention runs through Sunday at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center.

Spend the afternoon under the stars at UWM's Planetarium. The planetarium is holding an open house for families Saturday with a stargazing show, cake and presentations from the planetarium director. The event runs from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Local music lovers are in for a treat for this one. The Bands to Watch Concert at 88Nine Radio Milwaukee on Saturday features local acts including Field Report, Lex Allen, Dead Horses and more. The show starts at 7 p.m. and is open to all ages. Plus, it's free!

It's a great weekend for yogis! Pick your choice of yoga with beer or yoga with cats. Check out the classes at Third Space Brewing, Milwaukee Brewing Co. and Sip & Purr Cat Café on Sunday.

And when in doubt, nothing gets rid of the winter blues like good food and a full belly. Check out the Crossroads Collective or Sherman Phoenix food halls for a chance to try some new food in the city.
