With Wednesday's forecast expecting wind chills near -50°, frostbite will start to set in much faster than you might think.

According to the National Weather Service, with a wind chill 50 degrees below zero, frostbite could affect exposed skin within a mere five minutes.

To treat the exposed skin, you are to seek medical attention immediately and warm up the areas slowly.

Another thing to be cautious of is the possibility of hypothermia occurring. This happens when your body temperature falls too low. To avoid this from happening, stay bundled and stay dry, being wet will increase how fast your body loses heat. You can also keep your body warm by consuming spices such as cayenne, cinnamon, garlic and ginger.

So for Wednesday, try to avoid being outside for extended periods of time or at all if you can. And if you must be outside, listen to your mother and bundle up to avoid frost bite setting in.
