We Energies named the winner of its Safe Digging contest Monday: Charlie, the Goldendoodle.
Charlie won the online contest with more than 2,000 votes, 17 percent of the total vote.
We Energies says Charlie is 5-months-old and enjoys mischief in the yard, including digging.
Charlie will appear in an advertisement for We Energies to promote safe digging. He also will get a basket of doggie treats.
