WAUWATOSA -- A longtime Wauwatosa restaurant is about to undergo a big transformation.
The Chancery, which has served casual American fare on W. State St. for 38 years, will open next summer as a Jose's Blue Sombrero location.
The new restaurant is expected to have two floors of seating, including multi-level outdoor seating with an upstairs and street-side patio. The final design has yet to be approved.
Both Chancery and Jose's Blue Sombrero are owned and operated by the DeRosa Corporation, based in Wauwatosa. After the transformation, there will be four Jose's locations and three Chancery locations.
The Chancery is expected to host its final dinners and drinks Saturday, January 14. Renovation will take place until early June.
