Waukesha County will replace its entire 911 system Wednesday.
The system is now 10 years old and is being replaced with more advanced technology.
Authorities are not anticipating any disruptions in service, however, as a precaution, they're putting out a backup number.
They'll start putting in the new system from 8 a.m. to noon and will have extra staff on hand for the changeover.
