WAUKESHA — **UPDATE: 8:07 p.m. -- The Shelter in Place has been canceled**
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department asked some residents to Shelter in Place as they investigated an incident.
If you're in the area south of Lawnsdale Road and west of Highway 164, the sheriff's department is asking you to stay in your home and lock your doors.
The department is investigating an unknown incident.
The department sent a push alert to those living in the area, but it may have gone to others not in the area.
If you're not near Lawnsdale Road and Highway 164, you can ignore the alert.
