The 78-year-old man that died Thursday in the hospital from a medical emergency that occurred while he was an inmate in the Waukesha County Jail, has been identified as Hubert Smith from Brookfield.
Smith was currently awaiting trial on a First Degree Intentional Homicide Charge.

Waukesha County jail staff found Smith unresponsive and took lifesaving measures to save him on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release
Smith was transported and admitted to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and died Thursday.
The incident remains under investigation by the City of Waukesha Police Department.
Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson requested the City of Waukesha Police Department investigate this incident.
