A Waukesha County highway worker is recovering in an area hospital after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
The person responsible for the hit-and-run has been found.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened just before 1 p.m. on CTH F/Redford Blvd. north of Moreland Blvd. in Pewaukee.
Officials say the worker was working on road maintenance operations before being hit by a vehicle. The vehicle did not stop and continued to travel into the city of Waukesha.
The worker received non-life-threatening injuries and taken to an area hospital.
