According to the Journal Sentinel, the Department of Corrections spokesperson Anna Neal says lower-raking employees are also of paid leave throughout the investigation, the number of which was not given.

After escaping on April 16, inmates Thomas Deering and James Newman were found the next day at a homeless shelter in Rockford, Illinois.
