MILWAUKEE -- WalletHub recently announced their top 20 cities to enjoy Oktoberfest this year, and to no surprise Milwaukee cracked the list.
The "beer capital of the world" was named the 17th best city to visit for the German festival in 2018, coming in behind Madison who placed 16th.
WalletHub came to their decision based on 24 key metrics, ranging from German population, number of beer gardens per capita and average price for Oktoberfest celebration tickets.
New York topped the list with Portland, Ore., Cincinnati, San Francisco and Chicago rounding out the top five.
WalletHub estimates 1.98 million gallons of beer will be consumed during Oktoberfest along with 700,000 whole-roasted chickens.
