MADISON -- Gov. Scott Walker plans to announce his latest appointment to the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Friday afternoon.

Walker is considering appointing conservative attorney Dan Kelly, 2nd District Court of Appeals Judge Mark Gundrum or 3rd District Court of Appeals Judge Thomas Hruz to replace retiring Justice David Prosser.

Walker spokesman Tom Evenson says Walker will announce his pick shortly before 4 p.m. at a news conference in his state Capitol conference room.

Kelly and Hruz didn't immediately return messages from The Associated Press on Friday morning. Gundrum said he had heard the governor would make his pick Friday but didn't answer when asked if the governor had contacted him about the job, saying only that the pick is Walker's call.
