MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker has appointed a Milwaukee judge to serve on a state appellate court.
The governor announced Thursday that he has chosen Judge Timothy G. Dugan to fill a slot on the 1st District Court of Appeals. He will replace Judge Patricia Curley, who plans to retire in December.
Dugan has served as a Milwaukee County circuit judge since 1992 and oversaw the creation of domestic violence courts in the county. Then-President George W. Bush nominated him to replace the late U.S. District Judge Rudolph Randa in Milwaukee in 2008 before Randa rescinded his decision to retire.
Dugan earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School. He lives in Shorewood with his wife, Susan.
