Children under the age of 12 will not be allowed at select ProHealth Care locations for a temporary amount of time in order to prevent the spread of illnesses like the flu.
The restriction applies to the neonatal intensive care units at ProHealth Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
ProHealth says the restriction will be assessed as the flu season progresses and they will post updates on their website.
This comes after Children's Wisconsin and Froedtert have put similar restrictions in place.
ProHealth also says no one is completely safe from the flu. Anyone can get it and it spreads easily. However, they also say a flu immunization is a good way to reduce the risk of contracting the illness.
ProHealth has details online about getting vaccinated.
